Home for the Holidays?

So, my wife, and business partner, Annette said I should get on the ball and talk about your furniture during this period from now until the end of the year. If your furniture is looking kind of tired or worn from more minor damages then now is a good time to do in-home and on-site repair work. My wife calls these "tweaks" which can make dramatic differences just in time for those holiday visitors. Do you have scratches on a table, a white ring on a coffee table or wooden counter, or just a nasty area on your kitchen or bathroom cabinets? Our in-home or on-site services may be just the thing! So here is how this works.... When we go out and do this kind of work it is best to do it in "routes" so we can stay on the road all day. This means that the more people that need this work done actually reduces our costs. Here's an idea... tell your friends and neighbors so we can combo everybody together. For example... we might do a few jobs in Upper Arlington, then, move to Dublin, and finish off our day in Powell. We do similar routes like that right here in New Albany, then, moving to Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Blacklick, etc. Well, you get the drift.... If you wondering what might "qualify" for this type of work the easiest thing to do is send me a few simple camera phone pic.s directly to my email here at.... woodoctr@aol.com Please note that is all lower case and watch that tricky spelling on... woodoctr So let's look at a few things.....

Okay, so what's a little wine between friends, right? This beautiful rosewood family coffee table didn't like the 4 types of acids that attacked the finish and left this.....

So I had to go into my 1930s industrial wood finishing textbook to solve this one... Not just a moisture problem but an acidic reaction with an already naturally acidic wood... So does this look better? I got up close for this picture to show you that it was ALL gone....

So office damages.... These pieces have their own type of particular problems. This large receptionist area module weighed over 1300 pounds and was gotten into place until.... wait for it.... the final drop/crash! It not only opened up the frame with this crack but also someone lost the all important semi-polished stainless steel trim piece. And, NOBODY wanted to move this anywhere again and the big Christmas office party was coming. We found rolls of the trim strip and were able to first clamp/move for using glue/epoxy to bring this back together. In and out in about an hour....

So back into the home we go.... Our beloved pets.... When they have an anxiety attack from missing us they, well, turn to furniture... This chewed foot took about 20 minutes to fill, color, and blend....

So, if you have damages that need to be mended before the entertainment season is upon us my wife said you can also call her direct for scheduling. She can also take your pictures by text at this number. Annette's direct cell is 624-774-4638. Again, direct email is... woodoctr@aol.com
