Restoration Consulting and Planning

With our years of experience and the great volume of restored furniture many companies and individuals have asked us for detailed advice when planning projects. Although we don’t mind giving a little “free” advice here and there we can’t always “freely” spend the time to plan a multi-million dollar building restoration either.

Consulting work in most cases can be done over the phone at an hourly rate. We are asked to independently assemble the means, estimated costs, timetables, and a possible list of local refinishers that might be qualified to do the job for you. Many of our past industrial customers have invested from several hundred to several thousand dollars in consulting to save costs well into the 6 figure bracket. Members of our restoration team can also fly to job sites to design equipment, instruct, or even supervise work crews or individuals in the proper methods for conservation or restoration. Due to confidentiality statements signed by us with our clients we cannot disclose their names here. Listed below are a just a few of the situations we have been able to help with. 1982-1992 - Built equipment and provided training for 16 full-time restoration shops in 7 state area. (Combined savings to customers of over $125,000.00)

1988-1993 - Built high volume low pressure spray equipment for refinishing shops throughout Ohio.

1991- Provided “wood color training” for a reproductions manufacturer in southern Ohio.
(Company had so many quality control problems they were ready to close.)

1993- Provided “environmentally safe” spray products and procedures for a craft manufacturer.

1994- Switched a local toy manufacturer from spray to immersion process for finishing.
(Savings of $10,000.00 annually in materials.)

1995- Investigated and resolved OSHA regulations for an office furniture recycling company. Company was found to already be in compliance without further need for safety equipment. (Savings to customer was $22,500.00)

1996-1998 - Built equipment and planned the historical restoration of a 150 year old church project. (Savings to customer was over $52,000.00)

2000-2006- Developed and implemented methods for doing "extreme restoration" with several large fire, water, and explosion damaged wood and furniture projects. Even most burned woods can now be stabilized and blended back into the surrounding wood areas. Many central Ohio insurance companies are now having us organize and lead these projects.

2007- For this year we are currently working on further development of refinishing newer M.D.F. (compressed paper with a wood veneer face) modern furniture. We are able to use a "no strip" process with further bonding, re-coloring, and refinishing your more recently purchased furniture.
